If you are on budget and wanna save some buck then definitely choose this place. It’s cheap and in a great location in the middle of Edinburgh center. Also important that you are travelling with a backpack cos no other luggage will probably be comfortable for this type of hostel. Other than this, ofc there is much better, but for the price I believe it’s a fair trade off. Sharing the room with 17 people it’s weird but not bad. I think it depends on the people you happen to be in the dorm with. You surely must be an adaptable person flexible according to the circumstances. However the shower room are a bit narrow which makes it uncomfortable to have shower and get changed. The bathroom in general tend to be cleaned maybe not perfectly but just small details. In general to be a place shared by so many people it was in a good state. Also the staff was always kind and helpful so that’s a plus.
So recap: are u in budget? are you flexible person not too picky on cleaning and noise? Can you adapt to narrow spaces? Then this place might be okay for you, AGAIN you shall be travelling with a backpack and be in a Spartan mode let’s say. But that’s the fun of this kind of trips!
Best hostel I’ve been to! Visited Edinburgh a number of times and every time we stay here. The staff are always so friendly, the rooms are clean, it has such a great atmosphere, the common area is a great place to meet new people and hang …
This was an amazing hostel! Sometimes the room got quite hot, however, that is mostly out of the hostels control based on the building, but this was personal preference!
The staff was so kind. I left my airpods behind when I flew out and they were so helpful in retrieving them and shipping them back to me. 10/10 recommend everyone to stay here. Plus the location is perfect, 10min walk from basically anything.
While the price of this hostel is attractively low, the overall experience doesn't match the affordability. The staff can be somewhat impolite unless you establish a close friendship with them, creating a sense of exclusivity that doesn't extend to all guests. The overcrowded sleeping arrangements with frequent disruptions make it difficult to get a decent night's sleep, and the limited bathroom facilities shared among a large number of occupants contribute to an unsatisfactory stay. Unfortunately, this hostel seems to prioritize quantity over quality, leaving me quite disappointed with the overall experience.
Super cute hostel right in the center of Edinburgh. Great location for doing trips in the city and its surroundings. The staff was really sweet and helpful, rooms/beds and facilities in good condition. Nice cozy livingroom/kitchen to hang out and to cook your meal or to enjoy cheap breakfast and other meals. They also offer cute activities for the nights and try to create a great stay.
One of the BEST hostels I’ve ever been to. The rooms while sometimes tight are very clean and well kept. We were in a 10 bed room for 2 nights and then a 18 bed room for one night (we messed up our dates and needed to add an extra day) the location is perfect right off the royal mile heading to the castle. The staff and wonderful and very helpful. The kitchen is awesome with three stove tops and lots of room to store food. Again a great hostel and will be staying here when I return to Edinburgh!
Great hostel with a nice kitchen and a big comfortable living room. Rooms are also good, although the lockers are too small for most bags (and it is not possible to put them under the bed either). Good wifi, nice staff. Proposes activities almost every night.
Best hostel I've been so far! Staff and volunteers are very kind and gentle, the structure is clean, comfortable and with all the facilities you can need. The kitchen is very big and well organised, the rooms were really comfortable and each bed has its own light, usb port for power supply and locker, and the toilets were clean with big and hot showers. And I loved the breakfast (only 3£)!
I would definitely recommend it and hopefully come back to stay longer!
